Bengaluru: Justdial Limited, India’s leading local search engine, has reported a notable rise in mental health-related searches in Bengaluru, reflecting growing awareness and proactive help-seeking behaviour. The findings are based on a year-on-year comparison of search volumes between February 2024–January 2025 and February 2025–January 2026.
In the Counselling Services category, Bengaluru recorded a 22% increase, positioning the city among the top contributors nationally. This rise indicates stronger demand for professional counselling support, including individual and family-based services.
Searches for Psychiatric Services in Bengaluru also grew by 12% year-on-year, highlighting increasing recognition of the need for clinical mental health care and structured medical intervention when required.
While the national growth trends show Counselling Services rising 14%, Psychiatric Services 8%, and Counselling and Therapy Centres 5%, Bengaluru’s above-average growth in counselling searches reflects the city’s expanding focus on emotional wellbeing and mental healthcare access.
Across other metros, Delhi led overall growth in multiple categories, while Mumbai and Chennai recorded steady increases. However, Bengaluru’s consistent upward trend across both counselling and psychiatric segments underscores a clear shift in local user behaviour.
The data suggests that residents are increasingly turning to digital platforms to identify and access qualified mental health professionals. This growth may also reflect rising workplace stress, greater openness around mental wellbeing, and improved awareness about professional support options.
Overall, the year-on-year increase in Bengaluru signals a measurable and sustained rise in intent to seek structured mental health services, marking a positive step toward normalising mental health conversations and care in the city.
