Investment strengthens presence in high-value pharmaceutical segments while retaining its asset-light operating model

HRV Pharma, a global asset-light pharmaceutical platform, today announced strategic investments of approximately ₹150 crore to expand its capabilities in synthetic peptides and high-potency oncology APIs.

As part of the expansion, HRV Pharma is investing ₹40–50 crore in a Dedicated Custom Peptide Capacity programme through a strategic capacity underwriting arrangement. The initiative will establish dedicated cGMP peptide manufacturing capacity focused on commercial-stage and new-to-generic synthetic peptides across multiple therapeutic areas. The capacities are expected to be ready within 6–8 months and address a total addressable market of more than $2 billion.

The company is also establishing a strategic joint venture focused on high-potency oncology APIs and specialised molecules, with an investment commitment of approximately ₹100 crore. The platform will initially focus on oncology and niche therapeutic segments and is expected to develop 20–30 oncology and high-potent APIs in phases, beginning with R&D and regulatory filings before moving to commercial-scale capabilities.

Over the past seven years, HRV Pharma has built a virtual pharma platform combining regulatory ownership, global customer relationships and a network of certified cGMP manufacturing partners.

Speaking on the investments, Mr. Hari Kiran Chereddi, Founder, Managing Director & CEO, HRV Pharma, said, “The pharmaceutical industry is evolving towards models where regulatory ownership, specialised capabilities, and market access are becoming increasingly important drivers of value creation. At HRV, our focus has always been on identifying areas where the industry requires specialised capabilities and building scalable solutions around them. These investments of approximately ₹150 crore represent the next step in our journey, securing access to critical capacities in areas such as peptides and high-potent APIs, while continuing to maintain the flexibility and capital efficiency of our asset-light model.”
