A Programme to support innovators, researchers and social entrepreneurs working on energy technologies and resource efficiency
Chevron Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center (ENGINE) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have launched the Chevron-IITM Energy Technology Incubation Programme to support early-stage innovation in the energy sector.
The programme will support innovators, researchers and social entrepreneurs working across energy technologies, infrastructure, carbon utilisation, circular economy and resource efficiency. Participants will receive pre-incubation support, technical mentorship, prototype funding and entrepreneurship guidance through IIT Madras’ research and incubation ecosystem.
Dr. Akshay Sahni, Country Head, Chevron India, said, “This new initiative is a key part of Chevron UDAAN, our community partnership portfolio, set with the intent to help opportunities take flight. Through this partnership with IIT Madras, we are extending that idea into India’s innovation ecosystem by supporting student teams, researchers and social entrepreneurs developing practical solutions for the energy sector.
“By combining technical mentorship, entrepreneurial support and applied industry perspective, we hope to help build future-ready talent and advance ideas that can contribute to affordable, reliable and ever-cleaner energy.”

Chevron ENGINE may also provide industry expertise, technical mentorship and employee volunteering opportunities, while IIT Madras will provide access to its research, innovation and incubation ecosystem.
