Expanded facility manufactures advanced tyres for India, Europe and North America
CEAT Limited has expanded manufacturing capabilities at its Chennai plant across passenger car and SUV, commercial vehicle and two-wheeler tyre segments. The expansion will support production of premium products for India and international markets, including Europe and North America.
The facility manufactures products including 4SeasonDrive+, developed for changing weather conditions with a focus on wet grip, and CrossDrive RT, a rugged terrain tyre developed for the US market.
The plant has also developed manufacturing capability for the SportDrive SUV ZR22, making CEAT the first Indian tyre company to manufacture 22-inch tyres in India. The tyre is designed for ultra-premium SUV applications and features CEAT CALM technology.

This investment strengthens our ability to compete in premium segments with products developed and manufactured in India.”
The Chennai facility has also expanded its Truck and Bus Radial manufacturing capabilities, including seven advanced sizes for premium markets. It is additionally scaling up production of light truck steel radial tyres in 15-inch, 16-inch and 17.5-inch sizes.
For two-wheelers, the facility manufactures the SportRad Racing Slick range for racing applications and SportRad ST for motorcycles above 650cc.
Located in Sriperumbudur, the 163-acre facility uses connected machinery, real-time data analytics and automation. It has also received the Lighthouse designation from WHO, along with the British Safety Council 5-Star Award and Sword of Honour.
