Akash Ambani identifies mobility, home broadband and enterprise services as key growth areas, with plans to expand internationally.
Ahead of its proposed IPO, Jio Platforms has outlined its next phase of growth, identifying Mobility, The Home, and Enterprise & International as its three key growth engines.
Speaking to journalists in Mumbai, Managing Director Akash Ambani said Jio’s focus would remain on delivering affordable, high-quality digital services. The company currently serves around 533 million connectivity customers and carries more than 60% of India’s data traffic.
In mobility, Jio sees an opportunity to add around 340 million 4G and 5G users between FY26 and FY31, including first-time mobile users and those upgrading from 2G. In home broadband, the company aims to expand its customer base from approximately 28.6 million to 100 million homes, combining fibre and wireless technology to extend its reach.
Enterprise and international services form the third growth engine. Jio estimates India’s enterprise digital services market at ₹5.1 lakh crore and plans to take its proprietary technology stack to select overseas markets, working with telecom operators as a managed services partner.
Akash Ambani said, “The most important unit of our business is our customers.”
Earlier, Isha Ambani spoke about Reliance’s approach to building businesses, highlighting long-term thinking, scale, execution and financial discipline. The press conference opened with Uday Kotak recalling Dhirubhai Ambani and Reliance’s landmark 1977 IPO.
Jio sees these opportunities as part of India’s expanding digital economy, which is projected to reach US$1.4 trillion by FY31.
