Bengaluru’s Automobile Searches Accelerate 153% for Cars, 116% for Two-Wheelers: Justdial

Bengaluru has emerged as one of India’s most active automobile markets this festive season, recording a sharp surge in consumer interest across two- and four-wheelers, according to the latest Justdial Consumer Insights Report.

Driven by the dual impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reduction and festive-season demand, automobile-related searches in Bengaluru have risen significantly, reflecting growing buyer enthusiasm and renewed market momentum.

As per Justdial data comparing September–Mid October 2025 with Mid July–August 2025,

  • Two-wheeler searches in Bengaluru increased by 116%, while
  • Four-wheeler searches jumped by 153%, one of the highest growth rates among major metros.

This surge mirrors the nationwide uptick in automobile searches, which grew 306% for two-wheelers and 193% for four-wheelers during the same period.

The momentum follows the recent GST revision, which has made small cars (petrol engines up to 1,200 cc / diesel up to 1,500 cc and up to 4,000 mm in length) more affordable, with tax rates reduced from 28% to 18%. Larger vehicles now attract a flat 40% GST, simplifying the tax structure and encouraging higher-value purchases.

“With Bengaluru’s young, tech-savvy population and growing preference for personal mobility, the city is among the first to respond to policy changes that enhance affordability,” said a Justdial spokesperson. “The current festive period has amplified this sentiment, driving strong intent across both two- and four-wheeler categories.”

The report also highlights that the city’s rising searches span motorcycles, scooters, hatchbacks, and compact SUVs, with consumers increasingly exploring online options before purchase. This indicates a robust shift toward digitally driven buying journeys, even for high-value segments like automobiles.

As the festive season progresses, Bengaluru’s automobile market continues to reflect the broader national trend—where policy reform, affordability, and consumer optimism are combining to power India’s next phase of mobility growth.
