India’s diagnostics sector is witnessing a clear transition from reactive testing to proactive and personalised healthcare, driven by rising awareness and demand for early detection, according to year-end insights from Agilus Diagnostics.

Preventive blood testing recorded a 30% year-on-year growth in 2025, reflecting a growing focus on monitoring metabolic health, cardiac risk, and nutritional status before the onset of disease. Urban populations, particularly younger adults across major cities, are increasingly adopting routine health checks as part of everyday wellness.

Lifestyle and gut health diagnostics saw even stronger momentum, growing 47% year to date. Tests related to microbiome health, gastrointestinal function, food intolerance, and pancreatic health are gaining traction amid changing dietary habits, sedentary lifestyles, and increased clinical recommendations.

Precision diagnostics is also advancing rapidly. Oncogenomics grew 16% year to date, supported by significantly faster reporting timelines. Genomic results for blood cancers are now available within three days, while comprehensive solid tumour profiling is delivered in about five days, enabling quicker and more targeted treatment decisions.

Commenting on the trend, Dr. Anand K, Managing Director & CEO, Agilus Diagnostics, said the growing emphasis on early detection and personalised insights is reshaping how individuals and clinicians approach healthcare.

With faster turnaround times, expanded access to specialised testing, and rising public awareness, diagnostics is emerging as a cornerstone of India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem, supporting timely decisions and improved patient outcomes.
