Bengaluru: Ather Energy Ltd. has announced the introduction of its proprietary Infinite Cruise™ feature on the Ather 450X, strengthening its portfolio of software-driven innovations. The feature is being enabled via an over-the-air (OTA) update and will be offered as a standard capability on the 450X range, including the 450 Apex. Riders will receive an on-screen notification on their scooter dashboard once the update is available.
Originally unveiled on the Ather Apex 450 at Ather Community Day in August 2025, Infinite Cruise™ has been engineered specifically for Indian riding environments. Unlike conventional cruise control systems that are optimised for highways and disengage during braking or acceleration, Infinite Cruise™ is designed for urban conditions marked by low speeds, frequent stops, and variable road surfaces. Once activated, the system continuously adapts to rider inputs, automatically recalibrating to the new speed without the need for repeated engagement. This reduces throttle effort in stop-and-go traffic and helps minimise rider fatigue.
The feature functions across a speed range of 10 kmph to 90 kmph, making it suitable for everyday city commuting. It combines multiple intelligent sub-systems, including CityCruise for adapting to traffic speed changes, Hill Control to maintain consistent speed on gradients using regenerative braking powered by Ather’s Magic Braking Algorithm, and Crawl Control for stable low-speed movement on uneven terrain. Multimode Traction Control further enhances stability by improving grip on wet or slippery roads.
Reinforcing its commitment to long-term ownership value, Ather will also extend Infinite Cruise™ to more than 44,000 existing Ather 450X owners who purchased their scooters from January 1, 2025 onwards. This backward compatibility reflects Ather’s product planning approach and hardware architecture choices made during the development of the 2025 450 series.
With Infinite Cruise™, along with features such as Multimode Traction Control and Magic Twist™, Ather continues to position its scooters as evolving products where software upgrades progressively enhance safety, comfort, and ride experience.
