Renault India today unveiled the all-new Renault Duster, marking the return of an iconic nameplate that defined the mid-size SUV segment in the country. The new-generation Duster stays true to its DNA of ruggedness and strong ride and handling, while advancing in design, powertrain technology, safety, comfort and ownership experience.
The reveal took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, in a large-scale public event attended by over 15,000 people and members of the Gang of Dusters community. The new Duster is the first product reveal under Renault Group’s International Game Plan 2027 in India, where the company is prioritising focused investments and product expansion.
The new Renault Duster is made specifically for India, with close to 90% of its elements designed for local requirements. It is built on the new Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), engineered for extreme conditions and validated for 5-star safety standards. The platform also supports multiple powertrain options and advanced connectivity.

Powertrain choices include two turbo petrol engines – Turbo TCe 160 and Turbo TCe 100 – and, for the first time in India, a strong Hybrid E-Tech 160. The Turbo TCe 160 delivers 163 PS and 280 Nm, while the Hybrid E-Tech 160 combines a 1.8L engine with a 1.4 kWh battery, enabling up to 80% EV mode in city driving. Transmission options include a 6-speed wet clutch DCT and a 6-speed manual.
Commenting on the launch, Fabrice Cambolive, Chief Growth Officer, Renault Group and CEO, Renault brand, said, “As part of the Renault International Game Plan 2027, we are making India a key pillar of our growth outside Europe… The new Renault Duster is the first step in Renault’s renewal in India.”
Design remains bold and muscular, with strong character lines, full LED headlamps and tail lamps, and a distinctive yellow-accented Duster emblem. With 212 mm ground clearance and approach and departure angles of 26.9° and 34.7°, the SUV is built for demanding terrain. The vehicle measures 4,346 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,657 mm and rides on diamond-cut 18-inch alloys. It is offered in an exclusive Mountain Jade green colour with a two-tone roof option.
The interior follows a fighter-jet-inspired, driver-centric layout. It features sculpted seats with yellow stitching, premium leatherette upholstery, carbon-fibre accents and a panoramic sunroof. Technology highlights include the 10.1-inch OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in – a first in a mass-market car in India – offering Google Maps, apps, voice assistance and Play Store access. A 10.25-inch digital driver display mirrors key driving data and navigation.
Comfort and convenience features include ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, PM2.5 air filtration, electric parking brake with auto-hold and an electric tailgate. Personalisation is enabled through Google profiles, allowing users to save ADAS preferences and drive modes. Multi-sense drive modes – Eco, Comfort and Perso – allow drivers to tailor performance and steering feel.
Stéphane Deblaise, CEO, Renault Group India, said the new Duster marks the beginning of a renewed product cycle for the brand in India.
The new Renault Duster will be offered with up to seven years or 150,000 km warranty under the Renault Forever programme. Customers can pre-book the SUV with an R Pass priced at ₹21,000, which offers priority delivery and special benefits. Prices will be announced in mid-March 2026, with deliveries starting in April 2026. Hybrid deliveries will begin during Diwali 2026.
