Bayer AG has strengthened its digital engagement strategy for Indian farmers as its FarmRise platform crossed 5 million registered users nationwide, reinforcing the company’s growing phygital ecosystem for agriculture.

Designed to simplify access to agricultural information, FarmRise offers farmers agronomy advice, mandi prices, local weather updates, crop-specific insights and government scheme information through a user-friendly interface available in more than nine Indian languages. The platform aims to bridge the digital divide while improving farmer decision-making and productivity.

A key feature of the app is its anti-counterfeit scanning capability, which has recorded over 10 million scans, enabling farmers to verify product authenticity and improve awareness around safe agricultural inputs. Bayer has also integrated artificial intelligence into the platform through an AI-powered chatbot launched in 2025, which has already addressed over 25,000 crop and farming queries from users.

Beyond FarmRise, Bayer continues to expand its Direct-to-Farmer (D2F) digital ecosystem through platforms such as FarmRise One, Alivio and Ask Deena. These initiatives support farmers with market access, credit, insurance solutions, sustainable farming guidance and weather-based risk protection.

Simon Wiebusch, Country Divisional Head, Crop Science Division of Bayer for India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, said, “FarmRise is becoming a strong digital foundation for how we engage with farmers at scale. Technology is helping us amplify trust by combining our field expertise with AI-driven solutions.”

Through its growing phygital strategy, Bayer aims to combine agricultural expertise with digital innovation to build a more resilient and sustainable farming ecosystem in India.
