Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, has announced the appointment of Goda Ramkumar as Vice President, Data Science & AI Solutions; Mohan Palisetti as Vice President, Fintech & Payments Engineering; and Nitesh Jain as Distinguished Architect. The appointments strengthen the company’s leadership across data science, financial technology and engineering as it continues to build solutions for India’s growing digital commerce ecosystem.

Ramkumar will lead data science initiatives across marketplace operations, customer trust and safety, planning and fulfilment. She joins Flipkart after leading Data Science and Applied AI at Swiggy and brings nearly two decades of experience spanning analytics, machine learning and large-scale technology systems.

Palisetti joins Flipkart to lead fintech and payments engineering. With more than 24 years of experience, he has previously held senior leadership positions at Mastercard, PayPal, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and D.E. Shaw, where he worked on building and scaling financial technology platforms.

Jain will guide technology strategy across Flipkart’s engineering systems, focusing on platform reliability, developer productivity and long-term architecture. His experience includes leadership roles at Razorpay, Angel One and Walmart Global Tech.

Commenting on the appointments, Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Flipkart, said, “The future of digital commerce in India will be shaped by how well technology, data and financial services come together to serve evolving customer needs. As more consumers engage with digital commerce in different ways, the strength of the systems that power those experiences becomes critical. Our investments in technology leadership will help us build more relevant, seamless and trusted experiences for customers while continuing to drive innovation for sellers and partners across the ecosystem.”

Sharing their views, Ramkumar, Palisetti and Jain highlighted the opportunities to strengthen customer experiences, expand financial inclusion and build resilient technology platforms that can support the next phase of digital commerce growth in India.
