Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited has expanded the adoption of ATOM PRO, its in-house developed AI-powered distribution platform, as part of its broader digital transformation strategy. Built to simplify insurance distribution and improve customer experience, the platform now supports more than 95% of the company’s retail policy bookings digitally.

ATOM PRO has crossed 1.8 lakh downloads and enables policy issuance within five minutes for nearly 80% of applications. The platform combines lead management, product discovery, premium calculation, eligibility checks, payments, renewals and claims services into a single digital interface, helping agents and partners deliver a more seamless customer experience.

Anand Roy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Star Health and Allied Insurance, said:

“For customers, buying health insurance should not feel complex or time-consuming. They should be able to understand what a plan offers, compare relevant options, know the waiting periods and see accurate pricing before making a decision. ATOM PRO is helping our agents bring that clarity and speed into the purchase journey, while enabling to serve customers with greater confidence.

Its AI-led capabilities support guided selling, digital claims submission modules, helping customers receive products and services that are better aligned to their needs.”

Built on a modular, API-first architecture with an omnichannel intelligence layer, ATOM PRO enables faster deployment of product enhancements, regulatory updates and customer-facing features. The platform has also contributed to increased digital adoption in claims servicing, with digital reimbursement submissions rising from 8% to 21%.

Mukesh Sharma, Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Star Health Insurance, said: “ATOM PRO was built in-house to give Star Health greater control over its technology, data and execution speed, with the customer experience at the centre. The platform is modular, API-first and designed for scale, enabling faster changes to product features, selling controls and business rules. This helps us respond faster to customer needs, make product journeys more intuitive and bring greater transparency into the buying process. As adoption deepens, ATOM PRO will remain a key foundation for building more responsive, data-led and customer-focused distribution capabilities.”

Star Health plans to extend ATOM PRO across its active agent network over the coming months, further strengthening its technology-led distribution capabilities and digital customer journeys.
