The Card Company has launched India’s first premium metal prepaid card, powered by RuPay, making premium payment experiences accessible to a wider base of consumers without income-based eligibility or underwriting.

Built on a prepaid framework, the Metal Card enables eligible customers to complete KYC, set up a wallet and order a physical metal card with a feature plan of their choice. The product is designed to remove traditional barriers to premium card ownership while remaining fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

Customers can choose between Travel and Lifestyle feature plans or opt for the metal card without additional features. The card offers benefits worth over ₹50,000, including global airport lounge access, complimentary buffets at select five-star hotels and buy-one-get-one coffee offers at premium outlets.

Cardholders also earn 5% Gold Coins on every transaction, redeemable as digital gold, allowing them to accumulate rewards through everyday spending.

As a limited-period launch offer, the metal card is available at no additional card cost with feature plans priced at ₹5,999 plus applicable taxes. Customers can also purchase the standalone metal card at a discounted price of ₹3,999 plus applicable taxes.

Sandeepan Kashyap, CEO & Co-Founder, The Card Company, said, “At The Card Company, our mission is to democratize feature cards to all Indians. The Card Company metal prepaid card is a sincere effort in this direction – a feature card made accessible to all Indians across the country. We’re proud to build this on the indigenous RuPay network.”

Nalin Bansal, Chief Relationship Management – Partnerships, NPCI, added, “NPCI remains committed to delivering seamless, secure and trusted digital payment experiences to consumers across the country. The launch of this feature-packed prepaid card on the RuPay network is an important step towards making premium payment experiences more accessible. As the RuPay ecosystem continues to evolve, we remain focused on enabling innovations that expand consumer choice, enhance convenience, and further strengthen India’s digital payments landscape.”

The Metal Card is now available through The Card Company app, where customers can complete KYC, activate their wallet and order the card with their preferred feature plan.
