Tata Power has expanded its electric vehicle charging network in Karnataka with the commissioning of a 60 kW DC Fast Charging Station at Sri Krishna Cafe, Bannikuppe, on the Mysuru–Madikeri Highway (NH-275). The new facility is aimed at improving charging accessibility for EV users travelling between Bengaluru, Mysuru and Coorg, one of Karnataka’s most popular tourist destinations.

Located along the key highway connecting Bengaluru and Mysuru with Kodagu district, the charging station offers a convenient stop for travellers before they continue their journey into the hilly regions of Coorg. The facility is equipped with a 60 kW DC dual-gun CCS2 charger, capable of charging compatible electric vehicles from 20% to 80% in nearly 30 minutes, helping reduce charging time during long-distance travel.

Situated within the premises of Sri Krishna Cafe, the charging station allows motorists to take a break while their vehicles recharge, with access to food, refreshments and other basic traveller amenities.

The charger is integrated with the Tata Power EZ Charge ecosystem, enabling users to locate the station, check charger availability, start charging sessions and make cashless payments through the EZ Charge mobile application or RFID cards, ensuring a seamless digital experience.

The new installation further strengthens Tata Power’s EV charging network along the Bengaluru–Mysuru–Coorg corridor, supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles while improving charging infrastructure across one of South India’s busiest tourism routes.

The deployment also reinforces Tata Power’s commitment to developing high-capacity green mobility corridors across key economic and tourism destinations, making long-distance electric vehicle travel more convenient, reliable and accessible while advancing sustainable transportation across the region.
