As Karnataka prepares for the monsoon season, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited has strengthened its healthcare outreach initiatives by expanding access to virtual consultations and home healthcare services across the state.

According to the company’s FY26 data, Karnataka recorded a threefold increase in Home Health Care utilisation for fever and infectious diseases compared to the previous year. The highest number of cases were reported for dengue, viral fever and lower respiratory tract infections. At the same time, virtual doctor consultations have witnessed strong adoption, with an increasing number of customers opting for telemedicine as their first point of medical consultation.

Policyholders can access support through the ‘Talk to Star’ helpline at 7200 222 333, where they can press 1 for Home Health Care assistance and 2 for planned hospitalisation support. Non-policyholders can avail free 24×7 virtual consultations through the Star Health Customer app.

Commenting on the initiative, Aditya Omprakash Biyani, Business Head, Karnataka, Star Health Insurance, said, “The threefold rise in Home Health Care utilisation in Karnataka highlights the growing need for timely and accessible healthcare support, especially for children, senior citizens and patients who may find hospital visits difficult. Through ‘Talk to Star’ and our virtual consultation services, we aim to help people seek medical advice early and recover with less stress and disruption.”

The initiative includes unlimited teleconsultations for policyholders, guided support for home care and hospitalisation, and cashless Home Health Care services for eligible patients requiring medical supervision at home. Services such as nursing care, diagnostic tests, IV fluids and injections can be administered at patients’ homes.

Star Health is also encouraging households, particularly those with children and elderly family members, to seek early medical advice and not ignore persistent fever during the monsoon season.
