India’s entertainment and media (E&M) industry is entering a new phase of growth, with revenues projected to rise from US$25.7 billion in 2025 to US$36.7 billion by 2030, according to PwC’s Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2026–2030: India perspective.

The report highlights a shift from audience expansion to monetisation, with internet advertising, OTT video and gaming expected to drive much of the sector’s incremental growth. Internet advertising revenue is projected to reach US$14.3 billion by 2030, while India’s OTT subscription base stood at 216.5 million in 2025, making it the world’s third-largest.

“India has mastered scale. The next frontier is monetisation. As the country’s E&M industry grows from USD 25.7 billion in 2025 to USD 36.7 billion by 2030, the real opportunity lies in converting audience reach into sustainable value. Organisations that can harness regionalisation, premium experiences, and AI to deepen consumer engagement will shape the industry’s next chapter of growth,” said Rajesh Sethi, Partner and Leader, Media, Entertainment, and Sports, PwC India.

The report identifies regional-language content, stronger connectivity, premium live experiences and AI as key forces shaping the industry. Traditional media is also expected to remain resilient through digital integration and premiumisation.
