Three years since its opening in March 2023, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) has emerged as a multidisciplinary destination for performing and visual arts, bringing international productions to Indian audiences while providing a platform for Indian artists and stories to reach wider audiences.
Over the past three years, NMACC has hosted more than 3,500 shows, welcomed nearly 2.5 million guests and presented over 10,500 artists across music, theatre, dance and visual art in more than 15 languages.
Its Grand Theatre has presented acclaimed international productions including The Sound of Music, West Side Story, MAMMA MIA!, The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, alongside Indian productions such as Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical, Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela and The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation.
The Studio Theatre and The Cube have expanded Mumbai’s cultural calendar with intimate and experimental performances across theatre, music, comedy and dance. Meanwhile, The Art House has hosted exhibitions including Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Light into Space, Bhakti and Bvlgari’s Serpenti Infinito.
Its current exhibition, Second Nature, features nine large-scale installations by artists and studios including teamLab, A.A. Murakami, Es Devlin and Random International, and is on view until January 2027.
NMACC’s international engagement has also extended to the Venice Biennale, where its partnership to present the India Pavilion brought the work of five contemporary Indian artists to a global audience.
As NMACC enters its fourth year, its upcoming programme includes the return of The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation, Chicago and the India debut of Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter.
