Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, today announced the inauguration of an exclusive cardio-obstetric outpatient unit and a state-of-the-art cardio-obstetric catheterization laboratory at the Institute of Cardiology at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), Chennai, run by Madras Medical College (MMC). The facilities aim to strengthen cardiac care for pregnant women and help reduce maternal mortality associated with heart-related complications.

With the inauguration of these units at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, we aim to enhance maternal care by addressing the rising concern of cardiac complications during pregnancy. Our support not only aims to reduce maternal mortality but also contributes to research that will drive better healthcare solutions for women across the country.”
Infosys Foundation has provided a grant of over ₹31 crore to strengthen MMC’s cardio-obstetric care facilities. The grant will also support patients under the National Pregnancy and Cardiac Diseases (NPAC) study and the Tamil Nadu Pregnancy and Heart Disease Registry (TNPHDR), aimed at developing and evaluating care protocols for heart disease during pregnancy.
