Vietnamese electric vehicle giant VinFast has opened pre-bookings in India for its much-anticipated premium electric SUVs — the VF 6 and VF 7 — signaling a major step in its rapid expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.

The announcement comes months after the models made their India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, where they drew strong interest from consumers and industry watchers alike. Customers can now reserve their vehicle via VinFastAuto.in or at authorized dealerships by placing a fully refundable deposit of INR 21,000.

The official public launch is scheduled for August, in tandem with the opening of VinFast’s new manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly thereafter.

Designed for India, built in India
Both the VF 6 and VF 7 have been engineered to suit Indian driving conditions, with a focus on range, comfort, and intelligent features. The vehicles promise global standards of performance while addressing local concerns around charging infrastructure and everyday utility.

VF 7: A bold, spacious electric SUV featuring Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a connected cockpit with a large touchscreen interface.

VF 6: A compact, family-oriented option with premium interiors, smart infotainment, advanced driver assistance, and everyday practicality.

Strategic ecosystem to support growth
To ensure a smooth transition for new EV buyers, VinFast has partnered with 13 dealer groups to establish 32 outlets across 27 Indian cities. This 3S (Sales, Service, Spares) network will cover major metros and rising EV hubs including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow, among others.

“We are deeply encouraged by the overwhelming support from Indian consumers,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia. “The VF 6 and VF 7 are not only a testament to our global design and engineering capabilities, but also to our commitment to localizing our offerings for India’s evolving mobility landscape.”

Building for the long haul
VinFast’s ecosystem approach goes beyond just selling vehicles. The company has forged alliances with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to build an integrated nationwide charging and service network. These partnerships aim to offer real-time charging access, predictive diagnostics powered by AI, and a connected ownership experience.

In a significant sustainability move, VinFast has also partnered with BatX Energies, a homegrown clean-tech firm specializing in battery recycling and metal recovery. This collaboration underlines VinFast’s push to establish a circular battery economy in India, positioning the company as not just an EV maker, but a responsible player in the green transition.
