Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has received Single Window Clearance from the Government of Karnataka to set up a ₹250 crore EV powertrain manufacturing and validation facility in the Hubli-Dharwad region, marking a key step in strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem.
The 20-acre facility will focus on developing and manufacturing advanced EV powertrain systems, including electric traction motors, motor controllers, power electronics and integrated drivetrain solutions. The project builds on the company’s earlier Letter of Intent signed during the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025.
Designed as an integrated ecosystem, the facility will combine manufacturing with advanced testing and validation infrastructure, including dedicated laboratories and an open test track for commercial vehicle applications. It will cater to multiple mobility segments such as 3-wheelers, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.
The project will be executed in two phases, initially supporting powertrain platforms up to 250 kW and later expanding capabilities to 1100 kW with higher voltage architectures. It is expected to generate over 500 engineering and technical jobs, while contributing to the development of a localised EV component supply chain.
Commenting on the development, Vijay Kumar, Founder & CEO, said: “This facility represents a significant milestone in building globally competitive EV powertrain technologies from India. With integrated manufacturing and validation capabilities, we aim to accelerate innovation while meeting the performance and reliability standards of both domestic and global OEMs.”
The initiative aligns with Karnataka’s broader push to strengthen EV manufacturing and innovation, supported by ecosystem partners including Invest Karnataka and Karnataka Udyog Mitra.
