Yuma has achieved a major milestone of 50 million battery swaps since February 2023, reinforcing its position as one of India’s fastest-growing battery-as-a-service (BaaS) providers. Notably, half of these swaps were completed in the last 15 months, highlighting rapid adoption across the EV ecosystem.
The milestone reflects growing dependence on battery swapping among fleet operators and delivery partners seeking efficient, downtime-free energy solutions. Yuma’s network delivers 99.9% uptime, with swap times completed in minutes, enabling higher vehicle utilisation and improved operational efficiency.
The company’s growth is further supported by strong safety protocols and deep integrations with EV manufacturers, ensuring seamless compatibility and predictable fleet performance. Strategic collaborations with public and private infrastructure partners have also enabled Yuma to expand its network across dense urban markets.
The rapid scale-up from 25 million to 50 million swaps underscores the increasing relevance of battery swapping as a practical alternative to conventional charging. The model not only reduces downtime but also enhances driver earnings and supports emissions reduction through consistent daily operations.
Commenting on the milestone, Muthu Subramanian, GM & MD at Yuma, said: “Reaching 50 million swaps in just three years reflects both the trust of our partners and the growing acceptance of battery swapping as a scalable energy solution. Our focus on reliability, safety and operational efficiency has enabled us to power high-frequency mobility use cases at scale.”
As EV adoption accelerates, Yuma aims to further expand its infrastructure, enhance interoperability and strengthen partnerships to drive India’s transition towards sustainable and efficient electric mobility.
