Bengaluru: UNSW Sydney has signed a strategic MoU with Deloitte India to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in AI and Innovation at its upcoming Bengaluru campus, aimed at building industry-ready talent in India.

The collaboration brings together academic expertise and industry practice to create an integrated learning ecosystem focused on applied research, real-world problem solving, and knowledge exchange. The CoE will align with India’s NEP 2020 vision and address rising demand for skilled professionals in high-growth sectors such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

A key focus will be embedding industry-integrated learning into the student experience through live projects, experiential workplace exposure, and practitioner-led teaching. Students will gain access to Deloitte’s advanced innovation infrastructure, including AI labs, cyber simulation environments, and emerging technology platforms, enabling hands-on engagement from early stages.

The partnership will also drive joint applied research initiatives, with faculty and industry experts collaborating on white papers and innovation-led solutions. A dedicated startup and innovation lab will further support entrepreneurship and experimentation among students and faculty.

Professor Sarah Maddison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UNSW Sydney, said, “This partnership strengthens our commitment to delivering industry-engaged education and preparing graduates for an evolving global workforce.”

Additionally, the collaboration will explore executive education and upskilling programs for working professionals, strengthening capabilities in emerging technologies.

Set to roll out in phases from April 2026, the initiative aims to position India as a global hub for technology, innovation, and future-ready talent.
