India’s leading AI-powered travel platform, ixigo, has launched a completely reimagined AI-native version of its app at its flagship tech event, ixigo NEXT.

Built from the ground up with AI integrated across the entire experience, the new app aims to make travel planning more conversational, intuitive and personalised. Moving beyond traditional booking journeys, the platform introduces intelligent and agentic AI experiences designed to help users discover, plan and manage trips seamlessly.

At the heart of the experience is TARA, ixigo’s multimodal AI travel assistant that supports voice, text and tap interactions in English, Hindi and Hinglish. Unlike conventional chatbots, TARA is deeply embedded into the app and can understand complex travel intent naturally. From recommending hotels with specific preferences to helping users plan anniversary getaways or multi-city itineraries, the assistant uses travel history and contextual understanding to deliver personalised suggestions.

The app also introduces Trip Mode, a built-in travel companion that consolidates boarding passes, gate details, baggage information and real-time alerts into a single interface. Additionally, ixigo has introduced agentic AI flows that autonomously manage tasks such as flight tracking, refund management, hotel coordination and boarding pass delivery via WhatsApp and digital wallets.

Commenting on the launch, Rajnish Kumar, Group Co-CEO, and Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO, ixigo, said, “The new ixigo app has been rebuilt as an AI-native travel platform with AI seamlessly integrated across the user experience. By combining frontier AI capabilities with two decades of travel intelligence and customer understanding, we are reimagining what a travel app can become in the AI era.”
