BharathCloud participated in Bharat Digital Samvad, the inaugural national forum organised by the Bharath Digital Infrastructure Association (BDIA) in New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, regulators, enterprises and technology stakeholders to discuss the future of India’s digital infrastructure and technology self-reliance.

The event also marked the formal launch of BDIA, a not-for-profit industry association focused on strengthening India’s digital infrastructure ecosystem through policy engagement, industry collaboration and the vision of Data Swaraj. Discussions at the summit focused on sovereign cloud infrastructure, AI-ready computing capacity, digital infrastructure policies and the importance of building resilient domestic technology ecosystems.

The forum highlighted the growing emphasis on Digital Swaraj and the need for trusted, locally governed digital infrastructure to support India’s long-term economic and technological growth. Participants explored opportunities to strengthen indigenous digital capabilities while fostering collaboration between industry and policymakers.

Rahul Takkallapally, Co-Founder, BharathCloud and Founding Member, BDIA, said, “India’s digital future will be strengthened when homegrown technology companies collaborate and grow together. The coming together of nearly 40 organisations under BDIA reflects a shared commitment towards trusted infrastructure, digital sovereignty and long-term resilience. Bharat Digital Samvad has created a meaningful platform for stakeholders to work collectively towards advancing India’s digital ambitions.”

Piyush Somani, President, BDIA and Chairman & Managing Director, ESDS Software Solution Ltd., said, “India has built a robust digital infrastructure foundation. The next step is ensuring that the value, governance and control associated with this infrastructure continue to benefit the country. Bharat Digital Samvad represents an important industry effort to shape that future through collaboration and dialogue.”

The summit concluded with discussions on future policy recommendations, industry standards and infrastructure priorities that can support India’s next phase of digital growth and innovation.
