Samsung India has completed the Design Thinking Workshop phase of the fifth edition of its flagship CSR initiative, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, taking the programme to 135 cities across the country and engaging thousands of students in one of India’s largest grassroots innovation platforms.
Designed for young people aged 14–22, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow encourages participants to identify challenges in their communities and develop technology-driven solutions through design thinking, mentorship and incubation. This year, Samsung conducted 184 Design Thinking Workshops across schools, colleges and universities, spanning regions from Jammu & Kashmir to Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to Tripura.
With the workshops now concluded, the programme moves into its next stage, where the top 100 teams will be shortlisted based on the ideas submitted before advancing through mentorship, expert guidance and further evaluation.

The workshops guided students through the principles of human-centred design, encouraging them to observe, empathise, define challenges, ideate and prototype solutions across four themes—AI Living for India, Health & Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Sport & Tech.
Participants proposed a wide range of innovations, including AI-powered civic governance platforms, intelligent food quality scanners, assistive technologies for people with disabilities, portable solar-powered refrigeration systems for rural communities, real-time river water quality monitoring solutions and digital platforms to improve access to sports coaching and equipment.
As Samsung celebrates 30 years in India, the company said the continued expansion of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow reflects its long-term commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among India’s youth. The top four teams will receive incubation grants worth INR 2 crore, along with mentorship, prototype development and incubation support from FITT-IIT Delhi to help transform their ideas into real-world solutions.
