Companies to explore dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India
Reliance Industries Limited (Reliance) and Rolls-Royce today announced their strategic intent to partner and offer capabilities for the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of a sovereign indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.
As part of the proposed partnership, the companies will explore establishing a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India as a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technologies.
The collaboration will bring together Rolls-Royce’s expertise in advanced propulsion and engine technology with Reliance’s industrial, manufacturing and execution capabilities. The partnership aims to support India’s ambition to develop indigenous propulsion capabilities for its fighter aircraft programme and strengthen the country’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

The proposed complex is intended to support end-to-end capabilities spanning design, development, manufacturing, testing, production and through-life support, while creating opportunities for wider collaboration across defence, civil aerospace and emerging power and propulsion systems.
The partnership supports India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and its ambition to strengthen domestic capabilities in advanced propulsion technologies.
