Four young innovators from Karnataka have secured a place in the national Top 40 of the fifth edition of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, exploring technology-led solutions across emergency healthcare, health monitoring and grassroots sports.
Karthik Pratheep Paramadathil, 20, from Dakshina Kannada, is exploring a compact device to regulate blood temperature during emergency transfusions, including situations involving shock, hypothermia and heat stroke.
Bengaluru-based A V Kruthi Krishna and Bhavya Chawat, both 20, are developing StepSense through their team 404NotFound. The smart system captures gait and movement data to explore potential risks linked to falls, neuropathy and physical strain.
Roopal Guha Neogi, also from Bengaluru, is developing NyaayKhel, an AI-powered system that uses smartphone cameras to detect scoring events, create match records and generate athlete performance data for grassroots sports including kabaddi, wrestling and kho-kho.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a CSR innovation programme for young people aged 14 to 22, offering design-thinking training, mentorship and hands-on learning.
More than half of this year’s Top 40 teams come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, reflecting the growing diversity of India’s young innovators.
The Top 40 will participate in a 10-day Innovation Bootcamp with startup founders and industry experts at FITT-IIT Delhi before competing for a place in the Top 20.
Four winning teams will collectively receive INR 2 crore in incubation grants, along with incubation support from FITT-IIT Delhi.
