Reliance Jio has announced the standalone availability of JioPC, enabling consumers across India to access cloud-powered computing on their existing computers, irrespective of their telecom or broadband provider.
Previously available to JioHome broadband subscribers, JioPC can now be subscribed to by anyone with an internet connection. The service provides access to up to 16GB RAM and 1TB cloud storage, allowing users to upgrade their computing experience without purchasing new hardware.
JioPC is particularly suited for computers that are three to four years old, as well as older devices that have slowed down, run out of storage or use outdated operating systems. Users can activate the service in less than five minutes, without data migration, hardware installation or downtime.
With AI becoming increasingly important in education, work and everyday applications, JioPC enables computing-intensive processing to take place in the cloud. This allows even older computers to access the performance and capabilities required for modern, AI-enabled applications.
JioPC is available in two plans: the JioPC plan offers 8GB RAM and 500GB storage, while JioPC Ultra provides 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Plans start at ₹1,000 for two months, with longer-duration options available. All prices are inclusive of GST.
JioPC offers consumers, students, schools, professionals and small businesses an alternative to replacing ageing computers or investing in expensive hardware upgrades.
As a cloud-based service, JioPC requires a stable internet connection, including broadband or reliable 4G/5G connectivity, for a smooth experience.
