13th edition brings together 500+ exhibitors from 30+ countries to showcase environmental technologies

The 13th edition of IFAT India, India’s leading trade fair for water, wastewater, solid waste management and recycling solutions, opened today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Mumbai.

The three-day event brings together government representatives, municipal leaders, industry experts, technology providers and international organisations to discuss India’s priorities across water security, sanitation, wastewater treatment, waste management, recycling and circular resource management.

Bhupinder Singh, President IMEA, Messe München GmbH, and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, said, “India’s environmental infrastructure needs solutions that can perform reliably at scale. IFAT India connects public authorities, industry and technology providers to evaluate these solutions, exchange implementation experience and build partnerships for projects across the water and waste sectors.”

The opening day featured a fireside conversation with Smt. Agnimitra Paul, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, moderated by KPMG in India. The discussion focused on translating policy priorities into practical solutions for cities and urban infrastructure.

The event features more than 500 exhibitors from over 30 countries across three exhibition halls, with country pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Norway and the Netherlands.

The exhibition showcases technologies covering water and wastewater treatment, reuse, sanitation, recycling, waste-to-energy, resource recovery, environmental monitoring and digital solutions.

The knowledge programme includes sessions on water investment, treated wastewater reuse, urban sanitation, municipal waste management, circular economy, e-waste, plastics, digital water management and resource recovery.

IFAT India 2026 will continue through September 11, providing a platform for stakeholders to explore technologies, build partnerships and advance practical solutions for India’s environmental infrastructure needs.
