SEBI Chairman Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey urged Army personnel to approach investing with discipline, preparedness and vigilance at an Investor Awareness Programme organised by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) in Leh, Ladakh. The programme was attended by nearly 500 Army personnel.

The Chairman highlighted the importance of understanding investment risks, diversifying portfolios, avoiding fraudulent schemes, keeping families informed and maintaining updated financial records. He also highlighted SEBI initiatives such as Validated UPI Handles, SEBI Check and the Verified App Label.

Summing up his message, he urged investors to follow five principles: “Plan. Diversify. Verify. Nominate. Stay Invested.”

He added, “A little preparation today can take care of a much bigger responsibility tomorrow.”

Mr. Venkat N. Chalasani, Chief Executive, AMFI, said, “Financial literacy is not just about investing; it is about risk management, goal-based planning, and protecting hard-earned savings from cyber threats and unauthorized financial schemes.”

The event also witnessed the launch of AMFI’s first-ever Pocket Guide to Understanding Mutual Funds, designed to help first-time and prospective investors understand investment fundamentals and market safeguards.

Major Gen Praveen Chabra, VSM, GOC Sub Area, also attended the programme.
