TP Solar Limited, the solar manufacturing arm of The Tata Power Company Limited and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, produced 1 GW of solar modules and 0.9 GW of solar cells during Q2 FY27.
For H1 FY27, from April to September 2026, the company manufactured 2 GW of modules and 1.8 GW of cells, reflecting continued capacity ramp-up and operational efficiency.
The modules manufactured at the facility are compliant with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms and are listed under the Government of India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
TP Solar operates a 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, one of India’s largest single-location facilities of its kind. Tata Power, through TPREL, has invested nearly ₹4,300 crore in establishing the facility.
The plant employs nearly 80% women and uses advanced TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies. It manufactures ALMM-certified and DCR-compliant modules using Made-in-India cells.
The facility also incorporates AI/ML-driven systems and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), supporting automated and efficient manufacturing operations.
The investment strengthens Tata Power’s focus on building domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and supporting India’s renewable energy and Net-Zero ambitions.
