ICICI Life Insurance has announced plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027 under its Narishakti initiative. The announcement coincides with Navratri and the initiative’s second anniversary.
As of September 30, 2026, the company had over 78,000 women advisors, who contributed 45% of its agency business. Around 32% of its total advisors are women.
Mr. Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer, ICICI Life Insurance Limited, said, “We, at ICICI Life Insurance, firmly believe that ‘Talent has no gender’.”
He noted that women advisors had demonstrated a strong understanding of customer needs, with their contribution to agency business exceeding 50% in regions such as Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai.
The company said 47% of its women advisors had been associated with it for over 10 years. More than 500 women advisors had also qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a global association of leading life insurance agents and financial services professionals.
Launched in 2024, the Narishakti initiative supports women in building careers as financial planners, offering training, professional support and the flexibility to work around their schedules without upfront investment.
Through the initiative, ICICI Life Insurance aims to expand women’s participation in the insurance sector and support the vision of Insurance for All by 2047.
