To tackle youth unemployment in India, the Infosys Foundation has launched the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, setting its sights on enabling 500,000 job seekers to secure meaningful employment by the end of the decade.

With an initial investment exceeding INR 200 crore, the program—an extension of Infosys’ digital learning platform, Springboard—goes beyond skilling to offer direct career pathways for youth across both STEM and non-STEM fields. In the current fiscal year alone, more than 80,000 individuals have already been placed in roles spanning IT, logistics, retail, finance, and other fast-growing sectors.

“This initiative addresses a critical gap in the journey from learning to livelihood,” said Sumit Virmani, Trustee at Infosys Foundation. “India’s demographic advantage can only be realized if we equip our youth with the right tools, skills, and access to sustainable employment.”

The program offers industry-aligned courses in AI, machine learning, digital marketing, and finance, alongside soft skills training in communication, time management, and interview readiness—components designed to boost both employability and confidence.

Crucially, the Foundation is not going it alone. Nearly 20 partner organizations—including ICT Academy, Unnati Foundation, Magic Bus, NIIT Foundation, and others—are collaborating to implement the program across the country.

“The demand for a tech-enabled, multi-skilled workforce has never been greater,” said V Srikanth, CEO of ICT Academy. “Through this partnership with Infosys Foundation, we’re helping students prepare for the real-world challenges of today’s industries.”

Ramesh Swamy, founder of Unnati Foundation, likened the program’s potential impact to landmark welfare initiatives. “Just as the mid-day meal scheme transformed school attendance, this livelihood program could be a turning point in the fight against youth unemployment,” he said.

By integrating learning, mentorship, and job placement, the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program positions itself as more than a CSR initiative—it’s a strategic response to India’s employment challenge, with a long-term vision for inclusive growth.
