JioStar Group has announced the appointment of Emmy Award-winning creative technologist Stephan Bugaj as Senior Vice-President – GenAI Content & Technology. The move underlines the Group’s strategy to build AI-native entertainment platforms that blend technology, storytelling, and audience participation.
In his new role, Bugaj will focus on developing intelligent content pipelines, interactive narrative formats, and scalable creative systems that enable faster innovation and deeper audience engagement. JioStar aims to use these capabilities to design next-generation digital-first experiences that can be deployed at scale across its content ecosystem.
Bugaj joins JioStar from Genvid Entertainment, where he served as Chief Creative Officer. There, he co-created the Massively Interactive Live Event (MILE) format, a model that integrates live streaming, gaming, and real-time audience interaction. He also led the development of AI-driven creative tools and production workflows, supporting filmmakers and storytellers in building adaptive, participatory narratives.
With more than three decades of experience, Bugaj has held senior creative and technology leadership roles at organizations including DJ2 Entertainment, Pixar Animation Studios, Telltale Games, and Hanson Robotics. His work spans AI-enabled content systems, adaptive storytelling frameworks, digital production pipelines, and immersive media platforms. He is widely recognized for translating emerging technologies into practical, scalable solutions for the entertainment industry.
JioStar Group has already begun rolling out AI-powered features across its businesses, such as conversational interfaces, second-screen engagement tools, and AI-assisted production workflows. The company expects Bugaj’s appointment to further accelerate innovation in interactive formats and intelligent media experiences tailored for evolving digital audiences.
With this addition to its leadership team, JioStar strengthens its ambition to redefine how stories are created, delivered, and experienced in an AI-driven entertainment landscape.
