Applause Entertainment, the content and IP creation arm of the Aditya Birla Group, has announced an exclusive partnership with Story TV, one of India’s fastest-growing microdrama platforms, to develop a slate of premium short-form content for mobile-first audiences.
As part of the collaboration, Applause Entertainment—known for titles such as Scam 1992, Criminal Justice, and The Hunt—will co-produce and distribute a diverse range of microdramas across genres. Story TV will also acquire and adapt the romantic-thriller Hello Mini into a vertical microdrama format, aligning with evolving viewing habits.
Launched in July 2025, Story TV has quickly established itself in the microdrama space, offering a library of over 1,000 titles across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The platform has gained significant traction globally and currently ranks among the top downloaded entertainment apps, reflecting the rising demand for short-form storytelling.
Saurabh Pandey, Founder and CEO, Story TV, said the partnership strengthens the platform’s vision of combining storytelling with technology to bring microdramas into the mainstream. He emphasized the shift toward mobile-first consumption and the need to innovate for shorter attention spans.
Prasoon Garg, Chief Business Officer, Applause Entertainment, noted that the collaboration allows the company to explore emerging storytelling formats while continuing to build compelling narratives across platforms.
The partnership signals a growing momentum in India’s microdrama segment, with a clear focus on premium, high-quality content tailored for digital audiences.
