Walmart today hosted the second edition of the Walmart Growth Summit – India 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together export-ready businesses, MSMEs, digital-first brands, and supply chain partners to explore opportunities across domestic and international markets.

The Summit highlighted Walmart’s long-standing commitment to India’s export ecosystem and its efforts to strengthen supplier capabilities and global market access for Indian businesses. Since the 1990s, Walmart has developed deep sourcing partnerships across India and has already sourced more than $40 billion worth of goods from the country.

A key milestone announced at the event was the success of Walmart Vriddhi, the company’s supplier development program launched in 2019, which has now empowered over 115,000 MSMEs across India. The initiative equips businesses with digital capabilities, business skills, and market access support, with a target to support 170,000 MSMEs by 2028.

“India represents one of the most dynamic opportunities in global commerce today,” said John Furner. “We are focused on strengthening entrepreneur and supplier capabilities, improving quality standards, and helping more Indian businesses become export-ready for global markets.”

The Summit also featured a dedicated Resource Center offering one-on-one guidance for businesses looking to onboard to Walmart Marketplace and expand cross-border operations. The event received over 5,000 registrations, reflecting growing interest among Indian sellers to access international consumers.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy said initiatives such as Flipkart Samarth and Walmart Vriddhi continue to create growth pathways for small businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs through technology and digital commerce.

Manish Joneja added that Walmart Marketplace remains committed to helping Indian businesses become export-ready and scale globally.
