Sets a new benchmark for sustainable energy solutions across manufacturing and warehousing led supply chains.

Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has introduced India’s first Multi‑Ion battery technology for electric forklifts through its Material Handling Equipment (MHE) business, one of the market leaders in India’s material handling segment. The launch addresses the growing need for efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions as India’s manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing sectors scale rapidly, to enable 25% lower total cost of ownership, higher equipment uptime, and cleaner industrial operations, with a battery designed to last through the full operational life of the forklift.

India’s industrial and warehousing market continues to demonstrate strong momentum, with over 11 million sq. ft. of leasing across the top eight cities in Q1 2026, registering a double digits year‑on‑year growth, driven by demand from 3PLs, e‑commerce, and manufacturing‑led supply chain modernisation. As warehouses grow denser and throughput intensifies, the need for energy‑efficient, safe, and future‑ready material handling solutions has become central to productivity and performance

Multi‑Ion battery combines fast and opportunity charging, zero maintenance, and high energy efficiency, while eliminating rare‑earth dependency and reducing disposal challenges. Developed in collaboration with, one of India’s leading deep‑tech battery innovators, the technology delivers up to 5,000 life cycles—nearly 60% higher than standard lithium‑ion, making it battery for life of equipment, lowering Designed to operate reliably in ambient temperatures above 45°C, the Multi‑Ion battery is ideally suited for India’s tropical climatic conditions.

Mr. Anil Lingayat, Business Head, Material Handling Equipment, Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “As India’s supply chains scale in complexity and intensity, material handling requires energy solutions that deliver reliability, long‑term value, and sustainability. With Multi‑Ion battery technology, we are rethinking how industrial equipment is powered, applying advanced engineering to enable higher uptime, lower ownership costs, and cleaner operations across the value chain, including MSMEs. This reflects our focus on design‑led innovation, R&D, and technology‑driven product focus that delivers real, scalable impact across the logistics ecosystem.”

As a leading player in the material handling space, Godrej Enterprises Group views such innovations as critical to strengthening supply‑chain efficiency, warehouse productivity, and operational resilience at scale.

The launch reflects Godrej Enterprises Group’s advanced engineering focus and digital integration within its material handling portfolio. Backed by over 5,000 hours of real‑world validation and a 7‑year warranty, the Multi‑Ion battery technology reinforces the long‑term trust customers place in Godrej’s industrial solutions.
