WazirX has announced strong momentum in the first half of 2026, marked by growing user participation, rising investor confidence and significant product adoption following its platform restart. The exchange also released its H1 2026 Crypto Trends Report, highlighting evolving investor behaviour and the increasing role of non-metro India in driving crypto adoption.
WazirX Futures emerged as a key growth driver, with average trades per user increasing 11-fold within five months and trading value allocated rising 300% between March and June. More than 82% of WazirX users now come from non-metro cities, while the typical investor is a 34-year-old working professional, reflecting the growing mainstream adoption of digital assets beyond India’s major cities.
The report also notes that 95% of post-restart trading activity came from returning users, with one in seven adding fresh capital to their accounts. Investor confidence strengthened through H1 as deposits consistently exceeded withdrawals, while withdrawal requests declined by nearly 55%, indicating a shift towards long-term investing. March emerged as the turning point, with larger capital deployment as Bitcoin recovered and institutional inflows returned globally.
“The first half of 2026 was about rebuilding trust through execution. We focused on improving every aspect of the user experience while delivering on our commitments. The strong adoption of WazirX Futures, growing participation from non-metro India and improving investor confidence reinforce our belief that crypto adoption in India continues to deepen. As we move into the second half of the year, our focus remains on building simpler, more reliable products that create long-term value for our users,” said Nischal Shetty, Founder, WazirX.
To strengthen transparency and user trust, WazirX launched its “Guardians of Trust” initiative, integrated Fireblocks’ digital asset technology into its custody framework, completed the issuance of Recovery Tokens under the court-approved Scheme and achieved an internal customer satisfaction score of 90%. The company also announced upcoming launches including WazirX AI for market research and Taxlyst, a free crypto tax reporting tool.
