Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, marking the debut of the country’s first electrified AMG E-Class sedan. Alongside the launch, the luxury carmaker announced a multi-year title partnership with the Indian Padel Tour for the 2026-27 season, reinforcing its focus on performance, electrification and premium customer experiences.
Built on the iconic E-Class platform, the AMG E 53 HYBRID combines AMG performance with the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, the sedan produces a combined output of 430 kW (585 hp), which rises to 450 kW (612 hp) with the RACE START function. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds while offering an electric-only driving range of over 100 km (WLTP), making it suitable for both everyday driving and spirited performance.
Commenting on the launch, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “The E-Class has been the longest running nameplate in the Indian automotive industry and the AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ underlines performance, practical usability and electric efficiency, making the E-Class portfolio truly unmatched. This performance sedan combines genuine AMG performance with plug-in hybrid efficiency, balancing racetrack performance with everyday practicality. The AMG E 53 HYBRID furthers our ‘powertrain agnostic’ strategy for India, where customers decide the powertrain that best suits their requirements.”
The AMG E 53 HYBRID is available in Performance and Racing Editions, priced at Rs. 1.45 crore and Rs. 1.48 crore (ex-showroom), respectively, with deliveries commencing immediately across Mercedes-Benz dealerships in India.
Mercedes-Benz India also announced its partnership with the Indian Padel Tour, becoming the title sponsor for the 2026-27 season. The tour will feature 15 tournaments across multiple cities, including five Grand Slam events, reflecting the growing popularity of padel among urban sports enthusiasts. Mercedes-Benz customers will receive exclusive access to padel courts, dedicated Padel Days, priority tournament registrations, while AMG E 53 HYBRID owners will enjoy direct entry to Grand Slam events.
Speaking on the partnership, Santosh Iyer said, “At Mercedes-Benz, the brand desirability extends beyond alluring products to curated experiences and building communities that inspire our customers. The association with the Indian Padel Tour reflects our commitment to creating distinctive experiences, championing performance and shaping emerging lifestyle trends.”
