Tata Power has strengthened electric vehicle infrastructure along National Highway 66 with the commissioning of a 60-kW DC fast-charging station at Coastal Paradise in Sasthan, Udupi district. The facility is aimed at supporting commercial fleets, business travellers and tourists travelling along Karnataka’s key coastal corridor.

Located on one of India’s busiest coastal highways, the charging station connects major commercial, port and educational centres, including Mangaluru and Manipal, with Goa. The route is also a preferred destination for tourists exploring Karnataka’s coastline.

The newly commissioned dual-gun CCS2 charger enables compatible electric vehicles to charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in nearly 30 minutes, helping reduce travel downtime and ensuring uninterrupted journeys.

The charging station has been designed to cater to a wide range of users, including commercial fleet operators, corporate travellers and holidaymakers travelling along the Mangaluru–Goa corridor. Situated at Coastal Paradise, the facility offers access to refreshments, local cuisine and other amenities, allowing travellers to take a break while their vehicles recharge.

Built to withstand challenging coastal conditions such as heavy monsoons, high humidity and saline air, the infrastructure has been engineered to ensure reliable performance and operational efficiency throughout the year.

The commissioning of the station further strengthens Tata Power’s efforts to develop high-capacity green corridors across important economic and tourism routes in southern India.

Under its EZ Charge brand, Tata Power has expanded its charging network to more than two lakh home chargers and over 6,700 public, semi-public and fleet charging points across more than 690 cities and towns. The company also operates over 1,200 charging points for electric buses and serves more than five lakh registered customers nationwide, contributing to the rapid adoption of electric mobility in India.
