Bengaluru: Toshiba Digital Solutions Corporation, in collaboration with Toshiba Software India Private Limited, announced the winners of the GridDB® Cloud IoT Hackathon, an initiative designed to encourage students, developers, and startups to build scalable, real-time IoT applications using GridDB Cloud Database Service.

Held from October 29 to December 14, 2025, the hackathon attracted over 250 entries from across India, spanning healthcare, finance, IoT, and knowledge management. Five finalist teams advanced to the in-person finale in Bengaluru on January 31–February 1, 2026, where they refined their proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions with mentorship from GridDB technical experts.

Deevia Software (Bengaluru) secured first place for its GenAI-based Enterprise Document Management Platform. Wimera (Bengaluru) ranked second for its industrial IoT PoC, followed by VitalWatch (Maharashtra) in third for a preventive disease risk solution. Richie Rich (Bengaluru) placed fourth with a financial analytics PoC, and GooRoo Mobility India (Gujarat) finished fifth for its low-cost remote healthcare solution. The finalists shared a total prize pool of USD 5,000.

Mr. Hiroshi Tsukino, Director and Vice President, Toshiba Digital Solutions Corporation, highlighted India’s importance in Toshiba’s global digital strategy and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to advancing Digital Evolution (DE), Digital Transformation (DX), and Quantum Transformation (QX).

Mr. Ramdas Baliga, Managing Director, Toshiba Software India, emphasized the company’s focus on building a digitally agile Centre of Excellence and fostering innovation through collaborative platforms.

Winner representative Mr. Nitin Mangalashankar of Deevia Software noted that GridDB Cloud enabled rapid prototyping of GenAI-driven use cases on real-time operational data, allowing teams to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure.
