The Jubilant Bhartia Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with McGill University to set up a Centre of Excellence in AI Education and Research in India. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Anita Anand and Jayant Chaudhary.

The MoU was signed by Shyam S Bhartia and Hari S Bhartia of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, along with Professor Deep Saini, President and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University.

The Centre aims to address India’s growing demand for skilled AI professionals by combining academic depth with industry application. It will initially offer a Master’s programme designed to equip graduates with strong theoretical foundations and hands-on project experience aligned with real-world technological challenges.

The collaboration will draw on McGill’s research-led AI ecosystem and global academic standards, while leveraging industry linkages facilitated by the Jubilant Bhartia Foundation. The Centre will also function as a research hub to advance applied AI solutions relevant to India’s digital transformation.

With structured mentorship, live industry projects and continuous evaluation, the programme seeks to create job-ready AI engineers and future research leaders, strengthening India’s position in the global AI landscape.

Commenting on the occasion, Shyam S Bhartia, Founder & Chairman, Jubilant Bhartia Group and Hari S Bhartia, Founder & Co-Chairman, Jubilant Bhartia Group said, “India is at the forefront of digital innovation, and the need for industry-ready AI talent has never been greater. Through our partnership with McGill University, we are creating a powerful ecosystem where academic rigor meets real-world execution thus supporting India’s vision of becoming a global AI powerhouse. The Centre of Excellence in AI Education and Research will produce professionals who can move seamlessly from classroom concepts to enterprise-scale AI deployment.”
