Bayer has launched Trance™, a next-generation insecticide developed to help cotton farmers effectively manage sucking pest complexes, including aphids, jassids and whitefly nymphs. Designed to address evolving pest challenges, the new solution combines two complementary modes of action to deliver broad-spectrum pest control while supporting healthier crops, improved productivity and better farmer profitability.

The product will be available from July 2026 across major cotton-growing states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal.

Cotton cultivation in India is increasingly challenged by multiple sucking pests occurring simultaneously, rising pest resistance and limited cost-effective options for managing pest complexes. These factors often reduce crop vigour, affect yields and increase production costs for farmers.

Developed for modern farming practices, Trance combines two advanced chemistries that offer complementary modes of action. It features two-way systemic movement and translaminar action, providing protection for both existing foliage and new plant growth. Its rainfast formulation becomes effective within two hours of application and integrates seamlessly into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes, supporting sustainable crop protection.

In addition to controlling pests, Trance promotes healthier crop development by enabling rapid feeding cessation, cleaner leaves and improved canopy health. By reducing crop damage and minimizing the need for repeated interventions, it helps improve yield potential while maximizing farmers’ returns.

Commenting on the launch, Mohan Babu, Chief Operating Officer – India, Crop Science Division, Bayer, said, “At Bayer, innovation begins with understanding farmers’ evolving challenges. Sucking pest complexes have become increasingly difficult to manage due to multiple pest occurrences and rising resistance. Trance brings together two complementary modes of action in one innovative solution, offering effective and sustainable pest management while helping farmers improve crop health, productivity and profitability.”

With the launch of Trance, Bayer continues to expand its science-led crop protection portfolio, helping farmers enhance productivity while promoting sustainable agriculture. Trance will be available in 100 ml, 220 ml and 500 ml pack sizes.
