VIT Bhopal University welcomed its 2026-27 undergraduate batch with a Freshers’ Orientation Programme focused on preparing students for an AI-driven future through industry-oriented learning, research and innovation.
The programme introduced students and parents to the university’s academic framework, interdisciplinary curriculum, global collaborations, research ecosystem and student support initiatives. The event was led by Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan in the presence of Vice President Dr. Sankar Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan and Trustee Mrs. Ramani Balasundaram. Microsoft CSS Director Amit Chaudhry attended as the Chief Guest, while Swami Vigyanananda Ji was the Guest of Honour. Alumna Priyanka Giri also addressed the gathering.
Dr. G. Viswanathan urged students to use their university years to build technical expertise along with integrity and leadership. “The future will not belong to those who simply keep pace with technological change, but to those who can shape it. At VIT Bhopal University, we are committed to providing students with the opportunities, mentorship and global exposure needed to become thoughtful leaders capable of creating lasting impact,” he said.
Assistant Vice President Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning. “Technology is reshaping every profession. Our responsibility is not merely to prepare you for your first job, but to equip you for a lifetime of learning, innovation and leadership,” she said.
Chief Guest Amit Chaudhry highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence, noting that AI will reward those who continue to learn, adapt and innovate. Swami Vigyanananda Ji spoke about balancing technological advancement with ethics and purpose, while alumna Priyanka Giri advised students to use AI as an enabler rather than becoming dependent on it.
The orientation concluded with interactions between students, parents and the university leadership, offering insights into campus life, academic processes and career development opportunities.
