Abyro Capital, in partnership with T-Hub, has opened applications for Beacon, a dedicated SpaceTech cohort aimed at identifying, investing in and accelerating early-stage space startups in India. The initiative comes at a time when India’s space economy, currently valued at around US$8.4 billion, is expected to grow to US$44 billion by 2033.
Beacon seeks to address the challenges faced by early-stage SpaceTech companies by combining institutional capital with mentorship and ecosystem support. Following a structured evaluation process, five startups operating at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 2–4 will each receive an investment of US$500,000, along with an eight-week acceleration programme.
The programme was launched in the presence of leading entrepreneurs and industry veterans from India’s SpaceTech ecosystem, including representatives from Dhruva Space, Skyroot Aerospace, Red Balloon Aerospace and BluJ Aerospace.
Speaking about the initiative, Vamsi Kora, Founder and Managing Partner, Abyro Capital, said, “The response to Beacon has reinforced our belief that India is entering a defining decade for SpaceTech innovation. We are seeing exceptional founders building world-class technologies, but they need partners who understand both the science and the journey of building globally competitive companies.”
He added, “Through this platform, we hope to back visionary entrepreneurs, strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem and help create the next generation of globally relevant SpaceTech companies.”
Kavikrut, CEO, T-Hub, said, “Beacon brings together early-stage risk capital, technical expertise and industry partnerships to help ventures validate and achieve their milestones. We are pleased to partner with Abyro Capital to support the next generation of India’s SpaceTech founders.”
