Flagship lounge at Delhi’s Terminal 3 recognised as ‘Airport Lounge Opening of the Year’
Air India’s flagship Maharaja Lounge at Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, has won the Gold award for “Airport Lounge Opening of the Year” at the FAB 2026 Awards, held recently in Bengaluru. Organised annually by The Moodie Davitt Report, the FAB Awards recognise excellence in airport food, beverage, lounge and hospitality.
The Maharaja Lounge stood out among leading international nominees for its architecture, dining and service standards, marking a significant global recognition for Air India’s premium customer experience.

Spread across 16,000 sq. ft., the lounge combines heritage-inspired warmth with contemporary design through distinct spaces for work, dining and relaxation. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), it features circadian lighting, curated furnishings and artworks celebrating India’s culture and heritage.
Key spaces include The Aviators’ Bar, The Globetrotter’s Study, Serenity Area, Crystal Bar and Sleep Suites.
The award is part of Air India’s wider Vihaan.AI transformation programme, which focuses on modernising the airline’s fleet, refreshing its onboard offering and enhancing customer experiences across the travel journey.
