New ULIP investment option combines value and momentum through a rules-based approach
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has launched the ICICI Prudential Life BSE 500 Momentum Value 50 Index Fund, a value-plus-momentum investment option offering customers access to long-term equity opportunities through select unit-linked insurance plans (ULIPs).
The fund provides exposure to 50 companies selected from the broad BSE 500 universe, following the ICICI Pru BSE 500 Momentum Value 50 Customized Index. The rules-based strategy combines attractive valuations with positive price momentum and is reviewed quarterly to respond to changing market valuations and trends. Where a stock cannot be selected due to regulatory guidelines, subsequent eligible stocks will be considered to maintain a portfolio of 50 stocks.
Commenting on the launch, Manish Kumar, Chief Investment Officer, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said, “The BSE 500 Momentum Value 50 Index Fund has been designed to provide customers with access to a disciplined and transparent investment strategy that brings together two important investment factors, value and momentum. While attractive valuations can provide valuation comfort, positive momentum can indicate growing market confidence. Combining these factors enables the strategy to identify companies that demonstrate strength on both parameters, helping investors participate in emerging opportunities while maintaining a focus on valuations.
“The strategy follows a systematic approach and is reviewed every quarter, allowing the portfolio to evolve with changing market valuations and trends. We believe this approach can provide customers with a differentiated way to participate in long-term equity growth while maintaining investment discipline.”
The fund will be available through ULIP offerings including ICICI Pru SmartKid Assure, ICICI Pru Signature Assure, ICICI Pru Signature Online and ICICI Pru Smart Insurance Plan Plus.
The company reported a claim settlement ratio of 99.3% in Q1-FY2027, with an average turnaround time of one day for non-investigated individual claims. As of June 30, 2026, its assets under management stood at Rs. 3.34 lakh crore, with zero NPAs since inception.
