New digital feature enables investors to systematically accumulate gold and silver, one gram at a time

Axis Mutual Fund, one of India’s leading asset management companies, has launched ‘Shagun SIP’, a digital systematic investment feature that enables investors to invest in the Axis Gold Fund and Axis Silver Fund of Fund in terms of grams.

Available on the Axis Mutual Fund website, the feature allows investors to accumulate gold and silver gradually through a flexible, goal-based approach. The initiative brings the traditional practice of accumulating precious metals over time into a digital investment experience.

Through Shagun SIP, investors can set targets for accumulating gold or silver over a chosen period. The system calculates the required investment and enables a dynamic systematic investment plan linked to the desired quantity. Investors can accumulate up to 25 kg of gold and 50 kg of silver.

The underlying schemes invest in high-purity gold and silver of 99.5% and 99.9% purity, respectively. The digital approach also eliminates concerns associated with physical ownership, including storage, security and making charges.

Commenting on the launch, Boniface Noronha, Chief Digital Officer, said, “Gold and silver remain important asset classes for Indian investors, accumulated steadily over time. Shagun SIP, a first-of-its-kind digital feature, is a solution that offers a fully digital, goal-based experience for investors looking to build gold and silver holdings systematically over the long term. Axis Mutual Fund continues to invest in strengthening its innovative digital features and simplifying the customer journey. This is in line with our effort to deliver solutions that are easy to use and relevant across investor segments, regions and stages of life.”

The feature is now live on the Axis Mutual Fund website.
