Bengaluru – Shipway, the logistics technology platform of Unicommerce, today announced the launch of Shipway Cargo, a SaaS-based logistics solution developed specifically for quick commerce and B2B shipping, including heavy and bulky consignments. With this launch, Shipway expands its focus beyond parcel logistics into the rapidly growing B2B and institutional delivery segment.

Shipway Cargo is designed to serve businesses that handle frequent stock movements such as dark-store replenishment, distributor supply, inter-warehouse transfers and large consumer deliveries. These shipment types often fall outside the efficiency of slab-based parcel pricing and require dedicated workflows and specialised partners.

As manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers increasingly depend on fast and structured inventory movement to support omnichannel and quick-commerce models, the need for technology-led B2B logistics has grown significantly. Quick commerce, in particular, relies on predictable and time-bound replenishment cycles to keep dark stores stocked and responsive to demand.

The new solution supports multiple B2B logistics use cases, including warehouse-to-warehouse movement and last-mile delivery of oversized or heavy goods. It offers a dedicated interface to manage B2B shipments independently from parcel operations, enabling better visibility and operational control. Key features include slot-based delivery scheduling, access to specialised transport partners and real-time shipment tracking. Early users of Shipway Cargo include D2C brands, manufacturers and B2B sellers with complex logistics requirements.

Commenting on the launch, Kapil Makhija, Managing Director and CEO of Unicommerce, said that B2B logistics plays a vital but often unseen role in supporting India’s retail and commerce growth. He added that as retailers expand across formats such as general trade, modern trade, quick commerce and omnichannel, efficient inventory movement becomes mission-critical. Shipway Cargo has been built to address the unique needs of high-frequency B2B and quick-commerce logistics, which demand different processes, service levels and partners compared to parcel shipping.

The launch aligns with the continued expansion of India’s e-commerce logistics sector, which is being driven by increased automation, real-time visibility and integrated logistics platforms that are transforming large-scale B2B shipping operations.
