JSW Motors Limited has partnered with Tata Indian Institute of Skills (Tata IIS) to create a structured technical talent pipeline ahead of commissioning its greenfield new energy vehicle (NEV) plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The collaboration introduces a customized curriculum co-developed for JSW Motors, covering EV systems, battery technology, automation, welding, CNC operations, and advanced manufacturing. The program is aligned with plant ramp-up timelines, with JSW retaining curriculum validation and hiring oversight to ensure operational readiness from day one.
Tata IIS was selected after evaluating leading skilling institutions nationwide, standing out for its industry-grade infrastructure, OEM engagement experience, and application-led training approach suited to modern EV manufacturing. The initiative also builds on broader Group-level skilling engagements supported by JSW Foundation.
Beyond immediate workforce needs, JSW Motors aims to develop a comprehensive EV-ready ecosystem spanning suppliers, dealer networks, and customers. Over time, the company plans to establish a dedicated in-house training academy focused on advanced manufacturing and future mobility, reinforcing its long-term capability-building strategy alongside its manufacturing expansion.
“At JSW Motors, skilling is not an HR function, it is a business imperative. As we build our manufacturing operations, we need people who are ready from Day One. The Tata IIS partnership gives us structured capability, relevant curriculum, and the execution rigour aligned to our timelines. This is a deliberate bridge as we work towards building our own world- class training academy.” Rupam Singh, Chief Human Resources Officer, JSW Motors Limited.
“At Tata IIS, our mission is to solve the nation’s skill challenges by creating a next generation workforce that is not just job-ready, but future-ready. This partnership with JSW Motors is a significant step toward that goal. By designing bespoke programs in Advanced Manufacturing, we are equipping India’s youth with the high-precision skills required to drive the next generation of automotive excellence and ensuring a robust, consistent talent pipeline for our industry partners.” Venguswamy Ramaswamy, CEO Designate, Tata Indian Institute of Skills.
